TRAINEES

Programme Period:

1 year

 Overview 

This programme aims to provide extensive research experience to trainees through on-the-job training in a practical, inspiring, and innovative environment for up to 12 months. Trainees will be given opportunities to learn from a diverse team of microbiota experts and to explore in streams of clinical work, laboratory research and data science.

 Eligibility 

  • Recent graduates or final-year undergraduates from life sciences or a related discipline
  • Have relevant research background in Community Research, Laboratory Research or Data Science
  • Good knowledge of application software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Chinese word processing
  • Have strong desire to pursue a career in the gut microbiota
  • Pro-active, enjoy working with people and possess strong communication skills
  • Able to communicate effectively, embrace change and overcome challenges
  • Have strong desire to learn and resolve problems in new ways
  • Proficient in English and Chinese

 Programme Structure 

Trainees will be assigned to either research team or clinical team for a holistic and in-depth understanding on the interlocking relationship between scientific knowledge and clinical application. Clinical team involves public engagement to facilitate data collection process while data science stresses on the analysis of data collected in generating new discoveries.
